Product Description
DER MX-20 is a two-component, cement-based, polymer-modified waterproofing mortar with high adhesion and full flexibility.
Application Areas
Suitable for positive-side waterproofing in indoor and outdoor applications, including balconies, terraces, bathrooms, kitchens, swimming pools, water reservoirs, water tanks, and water treatment plants. Can be applied to horizontal and vertical mineral-based substrates in reinforced concrete structures prone to cracking, bridges, viaducts, reinforced concrete walls, and retaining walls, as well as beneath screeds and ceramic tile installations.

Surface Preparation
The substrate must be clean and free from dust, oil, paint, curing compounds, and any other contaminants that may reduce adhesion. The surface should be roughened to ensure adequate bond strength. Dry and absorbent substrates should be pre-dampened until saturated before application, ensuring that no standing water remains on the surface.

Mixing
The product consists of two components. Pour the liquid component into a clean mixing container, then gradually add the entire powder component while mixing. Mix with a low-speed mixer for 4–5 minutes until a homogeneous consistency is obtained. Allow the mortar to rest for 5 minutes, then remix for at least 3 minutes before application. The prepared mortar should be used within approximately 1 hour at 20 °C.

Application
Apply the prepared mortar to the concrete substrate using a brush or a suitable trowel at a thickness of approximately 1.0–1.5 mm per coat. Depending on the application requirements, 1–3 coats may be applied. The total application thickness should be approximately 2 mm. Where higher strength and flexibility are required, 4 × 4 mm elastic reinforcing mesh or reinforcing fleece may be embedded between coats. At corners and junctions, corner sealing tape should be used to improve mechanical performance and help prevent cracking. The product becomes rain-resistant after 24 hours and reaches its final performance after 28 days. Protect the applied surface from rain, frost, direct sunlight, and other adverse weather conditions for the first 24–48 hours after application.
Important Notes
- Protect the applied surface from rain and frost for at least 24 hours after application.
- Do not apply if the substrate temperature is expected to fall below +5 °C within 24 hours after application.
- In hot weather, apply during the morning or late afternoon and protect the product from direct sunlight.
- In cold weather, ensure that the application and ambient temperature remain above +5 °C and that the substrate is not frozen.
- Store the product at a suitable temperature before application and protect the applied surface from frost after application.
Storage and Shelf Life
Store in the original, unopened packaging in a cool, dry place, protected from moisture, frost, and direct sunlight. When stored under appropriate conditions, the shelf life is 12 months from the date of manufacture.
Health and Safety
This product is cement-based and may cause irritation to the skin and eyes. Appropriate personal protective equipment (protective clothing, protective gloves, safety goggles, and a dust mask) should be worn during application. The use of a protective skin cream before starting work is recommended. In case of contact with the eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of clean water and seek medical attention without delay.
