Product Description
DER MX-25 is a cement-based, polymer-modified, semi-flexible, high-performance waterproofing mortar.
Application Areas
Suitable for indoor and outdoor applications on horizontal and vertical surfaces. Used for waterproofing beneath screeds and ceramic tile coverings in balconies, terraces, bathrooms, and similar wet areas.
Features and Advantages
- Forms a continuous and waterproof protective layer on the applied substrate.
- Provides high adhesion to concrete, screed, terrazzo, and similar mineral-based substrates.
- Its semi-flexible structure accommodates limited substrate movements.
- Suitable for indoor and outdoor applications.
- Can be used on mineral-based substrates where there is a risk of cracking.
- Vapour permeable, allowing the substrate to breathe.
- Suitable for horizontal and vertical applications.
- Resistant to freeze–thaw cycles after full curing.
- Can be applied to damp substrates.

Application Instructions
- 1
Surface Preparation
The substrate must be sound, clean, and free from dust, oil, paint, curing compounds, and any other contaminants that may reduce adhesion. The surface should be roughened to ensure adequate adhesion. Dry and absorbent substrates should be pre-dampened until saturated before application, ensuring that no standing water remains on the surface.

Mixing
DER MX-25 consists of two components. Pour liquid component into a clean mixing container, then gradually add the entire powder component while mixing. Mix with a low-speed mixer for 4–5 minutes until a homogeneous, lump-free consistency is obtained. Allow the mixture to rest for 5 minutes, then remix for at least 3 minutes before application. The prepared mortar should be used within approximately 1 hour at 20 °C.
- 3
Application
The prepared DER MX-25 should be applied to the substrate by brush at a thickness of approximately 1.0–1.5 mm per coat. Depending on the application requirements, 1–3 coats may be applied, with a total application thickness of approximately 2 mm. Where higher mechanical strength and flexibility are required, a 4 × 4 mm elastic synthetic reinforcing mesh or reinforcing fleece may be embedded between coats. At corners and junctions, a suitable waterproofing tape should be used to reduce the risk of cracking. DER MX-25 becomes rain-resistant approximately 24 hours after application and reaches its final strength after 28 days. Protect the applied surface from rain, frost, direct sunlight, and other adverse environmental conditions for the first 24–48 hours.
Storage and Shelf Life
Store the product in its original packaging in a dry, well-ventilated and protected area at temperatures between +5 °C and +25 °C, protected from direct sunlight, rain and frost. Under proper storage conditions, the shelf life is 12 months from the date of manufacture.
Health and Safety
Suitable protective gloves, protective clothing, a mask, and safety goggles should be worn during mixing and application. Avoid contact with the eyes, skin, and mouth. In case of skin contact, wash thoroughly with plenty of water. In case of eye contact or ingestion, seek immediate medical attention. For detailed safety information, refer to the product Safety Data Sheet (SDS).
