Product Description
DERMIX HYDROLOCK is a one-component, elastomeric polymer resin-based waterproofing product developed for building areas exposed to the outdoor environment and moisture. Thanks to its special pigment structure with high resistance to sunlight (UV) and its modified acrylic emulsion binder, it forms an impermeable, seamless and watertight protective layer on the surfaces to which it is applied.
Application Areas
Used in open and enclosed wet areas carrying a permanent water load, such as terraces, large balconies, roofs and façades as well as bathrooms, hammams and toilets. Can be applied in water reservoirs, liquid storage tanks, treatment plants and in Olympic or thermal swimming pools exposed to freezing conditions in winter. Used as a flexible waterproofing layer beneath ceramic, porcelain, natural granite and glass mosaic tiling. Can be applied to fair-faced concrete, aerated concrete, pumice block, plasterboard, gypsum plaster, brick and all similar absorbent mineral-based building substrates. Also used as an auxiliary material for fixing thermal insulation boards (EPS, XPS) to concrete blocks.
Features and Advantages
- Forms a seamless, continuous waterproofing membrane without joints once dry.
- Highly resistant to sunlight (UV).
- Its balanced consistency allows it to be applied easily on vertical walls and overhead ceilings without sagging.
- Absorbs surface stresses caused by day–night temperature differences or slight settlement of the building; bridges cracks.
- Its long pot life allows unhurried, comfortable and error-free application.

Application Instructions
- 1
Surface Preparation
The concrete or plaster substrate must be rigid, dry, level and completely clean. Oil, release agents, dust, paint residues and loose particles that would weaken adhesion must be removed mechanically. Deep voids or segregation cracks must be filled with a suitable repair mortar before application. Very dry and absorbent substrates should be dampened lightly without leaving standing water, and smooth glossy surfaces should be roughened mechanically.
- 2
Mixing
DERMIX HYDROLOCK is supplied ready to use in liquid form. When the container is opened, however, stir it thoroughly for 3–5 minutes with a low-speed mixer (max. 400–600 rpm) so that the fillers and polymers are evenly dispersed. Stir at intervals during application to prevent the product from settling.
- 3
Application
Apply the liquid material evenly to the substrate by roller or brush. For best performance, apply at least two coats. Allow each coat to dry, and apply the second coat at a right angle (90 degrees) to the direction of the first. Waterproofing tape (fillet tape) or reinforcing mesh must be used at corners, pipe penetrations and critical joints.
Important Notes
- Work only when the ambient and substrate temperature is between +5 °C and +35 °C.
- Never add water, cement, lime or any other chemical to the factory-made liquid mixture.
- Protect the surface from frost, heavy rain, strong direct sunlight and strong wind for the first 24–48 hours after application.
- Do not leave it exposed as a wearing course on surfaces with continuous foot or vehicle traffic; cover it with tiles, screed or a protective coating.
Storage and Shelf Life
Store in the original, unopened and undamaged packaging in a dry place, protected from frost and direct sunlight. When stored under appropriate conditions, the shelf life is 12 months from the date of manufacture.
Health and Safety
Wear suitable protective gloves, protective clothing, a mask and safety goggles during mixing and application. Avoid contact with the eyes, skin and mouth. In case of skin contact, wash thoroughly with plenty of water. If the product comes into contact with the eyes or is swallowed, seek immediate medical attention.
