Product Description
PLASTDER KALIN is a single-component, cement-based ready-mixed base coat render reinforced with fibres and special chemical additives, suitable for both manual and machine application.
Application Areas
Suitable for indoor and outdoor applications on vertical (wall) and overhead (ceiling) surfaces. Can be applied to concrete, fair-faced concrete, AAC blocks, brick, pumice blocks, and other mineral-based substrates.
Features and Advantages
- Easy to prepare and suitable for both manual and machine application.
- Provides high adhesion and excellent slip resistance on vertical surfaces.
- Reduces labour time and improves application efficiency.
- Fibre reinforcement helps minimise shrinkage cracking.
- Provides a smooth and uniform surface finish.
- Compatible with plastering machines and pumping equipment.
- Resistant to weathering and freeze–thaw cycles.
- Suitable for application on concrete, AAC blocks, brick, pumice blocks, and other mineral-based substrates.

Application Instructions
- 1
Surface Preparation
The substrate must be sound, fully cured, clean, and free from dust, dirt, form-release agents, bitumen, tar, paint, silicone, detergents, curing compounds, and any other contaminants that may reduce adhesion. Cracks, voids, and damaged areas should be repaired with a suitable repair mortar before application. On fair-faced concrete substrates, suitable primer should be applied prior to rendering to improve adhesion. The substrate should be properly pre-dampened before application. On large surfaces, screed guides should be installed to ensure proper alignment and facilitate levelling.
- 2
Mixing
Pour 4.5–5.0 L of clean water into a clean mixing container and gradually add 25 kg of PLASTDER KALIN. Mix with a low-speed mixer until a homogeneous, lump-free consistency is obtained. Allow the mortar to rest for 5 – 10 minutes, then remix for 1 – 2 minutes before application. The prepared mortar should be used within its 2 – 3 hour pot life.
- 3
Application
Apply the prepared mortar uniformly using a suitable plastering machine or a steel trowel. Level the surface with an aluminium straightedge. The application thickness should not exceed 15 mm per coat or 30 mm in total. Finish the surface with a steel trowel once the mortar starts to set. When the ambient temperature is above 20 °C, carry out the first curing by water spraying 12 – 15 hours after application, followed by at least three additional curing cycles at 12-hour intervals. When the temperature is below 20 °C, perform the first curing 24 hours after application, followed by curing at 12-hour intervals for at least three times. After the initial curing cycles, keep the rendered surface moist for 7 days. Where a smoother finish is required, apply finish coat render after the base coat has cured. Reinforcing mesh should be used at the junctions of dissimilar substrates, and suitable corner beads should be installed at wall and beam corners.
Important Notes
- The application and ambient temperature should be between +5 °C and +35 °C.
- Do not add cement, lime, gypsum, sand, or any other additives to the prepared mortar.
- Follow the recommended mixing water ratio and do not exceed the specified amount of water.
- Do not apply on surfaces exposed to frost within 24 hours, or to direct sunlight and strong winds.
- After application, protect the surface from frost, snow, and other adverse weather conditions for at least 7 days.
- Where necessary, suitable protective measures should be taken.
Storage and Shelf Life
Store in the original, unopened packaging in a cool, dry place, protected from moisture, frost, and direct sunlight. When stored under appropriate conditions, the shelf life is 12 months from the date of manufacture.
Health and Safety
This product is cement-based and may cause irritation to the skin and eyes. Appropriate personal protective equipment (protective clothing, protective gloves, safety goggles, and a dust mask) should be worn during application. The use of a protective skin cream before starting work is recommended. In case of contact with the eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of clean water and seek medical attention without delay.
