Product Description
MAXPLAST 2602 is a cement-based, fibre-reinforced rendering mortar specially developed for the application over thermal and acoustic insulation boards such as EPS and stone wool, for both indoor and outdoor use. When applied with reinforcing mesh, it enhances the surface strength.
Application Areas
Suitable for horizontal, vertical, and overhead applications. Designed for interior and exterior rendering applications in reinforced concrete structures, residential buildings, hospitals, and shopping centres. Suitable for rendering concrete, aerated concrete, and EPS void filler blocks, as well as for coating insulation boards in External Thermal Insulation Composite Systems (ETICS).
Features and Advantages
- Easy to apply and shape.
- Its non-combustible structure provides safe use.
- Vapour permeable and can be painted directly.
- Fibre reinforcement and polymer additives help absorb stresses caused by temperature changes, reducing the risk of cracking.
- Resistant to adverse weather conditions and provides long-lasting protection for exterior applications.

Application Instructions

Surface Preparation
The substrate must be clean, sound, and level. Oil, rust, dust, detergents, and any other contaminants that may reduce adhesion must be completely removed. Loose particles should be removed, and cracks and voids must be repaired with a suitable repair mortar. Joints between insulation boards should be filled with pieces of the same insulation material. Before rendering, drill holes for the anchors and install at least 6 anchors per m², selected according to the substrate type and insulation board thickness. Increase the number of anchors for high-rise buildings. Anchor heads must be flush with the insulation board surface to ensure a smooth finish and prevent visible anchor marks on the facade.

Mixing
Pour 6 – 7 L of clean water into a clean mixing container and gradually add 25 kg of MAXPLAST 2602. Mix with a low-speed mixer for at least 5 minutes until a homogeneous, lump-free consistency is obtained. Allow the mortar to rest for 3 minutes, then remix for 2 minutes before application.

Application
Apply the prepared mortar to a thickness of approximately 4 mm using a 10 × 10 mm notched steel trowel. Before the mortar hardens, embed 160 g/m² alkali-resistant reinforcing mesh into the mortar with a minimum 100 mm overlap, ensuring the mesh remains approximately 1 – 1.5 mm below the surface. Apply additional mesh reinforcement at door and window corners and use mesh corner profiles to achieve clean and durable corner details. During application and curing, both the ambient and substrate temperatures must be maintained between +5 °C and +30 °C.
Important Notes
- Do not apply on painted surfaces, gypsum-based substrates, or aerated concrete.
- Keep the applied surface moist for 2–3 days after application.
- Do not use as a final concrete floor topping on large surface areas.
- As this is a cement-based product, avoid inhalation of dust and contact with the skin and eyes.
- Clean hands and all tools with plenty of water immediately after application.
- Protect the surface from wind and direct sunlight during application.
- Consumption may vary depending on application conditions and substrate characteristics.
Storage and Shelf Life
Store in the original, unopened packaging in a cool, dry place, protected from moisture, frost, and direct sunlight. When stored under appropriate conditions, the shelf life is 12 months from the date of manufacture.
Health and Safety
This product is cement-based and may cause irritation to the skin and eyes. Appropriate personal protective equipment (protective clothing, protective gloves, safety goggles, and a dust mask) should be worn during application. The use of a protective skin cream before starting work is recommended. In case of contact with the eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of clean water and seek medical attention without delay.
